What is Homeopathy?
Dr. C.F. Samuel Hahnemann
Homeopathy, first formulated and identified by German physician Dr. C.F. Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843), is a perfectly simple, complete holistic self-healing system based on the principle of cure through symptom similarity, using micro doses of medicines that have the power to induce similar symptoms in healthy individuals. The word Homeopathy derives from two Greek words: homoios meaning ‘like’ and patheia meaning ‘suffering’.
The pure unadulterated form of Hahnemann’s Homeopathy centers on gently encouraging, stimulating and strengthening our instinctive natural vital forces of self-recovery, while decreasing the potential for future illness. It is appropriate for those suffering simple or complex, common and rare states of illness, and is especially suited to those seeking to avoid the toxicity of some drugs and heal themselves with minimal medicine.
For clarity concerning responses to homeopathic medicines, Hahnemann’s Homeopathy is most effective when practiced uncombined with other healing modalities. It is useful when other healing methods fail to restore health.
"The pure homeopathic healing art, the one possible to human art; is the only correct method, the straightest way to cure as certain as there is but one straight line between two given points." (Hahnemann, Organon of Medicine Sixth Revised Edition, §53.) Since its inception the popularity, potency and cost-efficiency of Homeopathy has posed a serious threat to materialist mainstream medicine which claims Homeopathy is unscientific.
Contrary to that claim, Hahnemann’s genuine Homeopathy is founded on certain laws of nature and the accepted rule of science: validation of a hypothesis through experiment. In this instance: Hippocrates’ observation: ‘that which has the power to make the healthy sick, also has the power to make the sick healthy.’
After many years of experimentation, Hahnemann established fixed fundamental principles, doctrines and rules of practice to govern the practice of Homeopathy, and systematically set them down in his celebrated work: Organon of Medicine, Sixth Revised Edition.
For Homeopathy to be functional, durable, operate effectively and stand in its integrity, nothing conflicting with its fixed principles can be added to it and nothing taken away.
To treat each individual judiciously and rationally, select the correct symptom-similar medicine, dose and proper intervals between doses, knowledge and application of ALL the fixed fundamental principles governing the practice of Homeopathy are required—an apparently easy but truthfully difficult task, and one requiring much thought.
