My Story

Me with SamBorn and raised in the county of Kent, England, my school life was spent excelling at sports, essay writing and not much else.

Secretarial skills were my ticket into many interesting professions including journalism. I segued from PA to editorial researcher and learned the craft of writing by typing articles and books of the best journalists around. Gradually, I morphed into a professional freelance writer.

While researching holistic medicine for a book on menopause, I discovered Homeopathy and was profoundly affected by its logic and simplicity.

Writing and Homeopathy demand similar practitioner attributes including: resourcefulness; inordinate self-discipline; agile intelligence; the ability to explain complex topics simply; discrete meticulous observation; listening deeply; the understanding that the better prepared you are for, and the less you say during an interview, the more likely you are to glean a gem of unexpected and extremely useful information.

Having found my passion and true purpose in life, I completed three years full time formal professional education and training in Homeopathic Medicine, and graduated with Honors, from the London College of Classical Homeopathy (LicLCCH). After a fourth year of full time postgraduate study I received homeopathic teacher training certification (CHE).

During research into Homeopathy for the menopause book and my homeopathic education, I understood Hahnemann’s original teaching and the fixed fundamental principles of homeopathic practice which he established, represents the truth concerning Homeopathy. Having completed my training, instead of joining the throng in proliferating multiple, freestyle, variant methodologies, common sense dictated I stay close to the person with superior wisdom of Homeopathy and take the intellectually challenging path up the mountain towards the incomparable Hahnemann.

Since qualifying, I developed a thriving private practice, a free homeopathic clinic within the UK National Health Service, lectured part-time at the London College of Classical Homoeopathy and The London School of Classical Homoeopathy.

In 1993 I was awarded membership of the British Register of Complementary Medicine Practitioners, Classical Homeopathy Division MBRCP(H), by the Institute of Complementary and Natural Medicine, a world wide organization which maintains the highest Best Practice standards and requires exacting levels of competence few practitioners meet.

In 1995 I accepted the post of principal lecturer of Homeopathic Medicine and moved to the San Francisco Bay area. For the next ten years I taught all aspects of Hahnemann’s homeopathic methodology, materia medica, and was responsible for providing student clinical experience and case management supervision.

In 1998 my first homeopathic book Crossroads to Cure was published, and I joined the adjunct faculty of John F. Kennedy University to present that Graduate School Holistic Health Program.

In 2000 I testified on the standards of homeopathic education training to the White House Commission on Complementary and Alternative Medicine.

In 2005 I returned to the liberating, warmth and testing environment of writing and built another successful full-time private clinical practice.

In 2008 I was invited to create and teach a curriculum for a group of licensed health care providers interested in practicing Hahnemann’s genuine Homeopathy.

In 2009 my second homeopathic book RELEASE THE VITAL FORCE was published.

Over the years I have presented national and international homeopathic medicine Master-classes and been guest speaker at conferences organized by The National Center for Homeopathy, The American Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy and the California State Homeopathic Medical Society.

Currently I enjoy my busy clinical practice and case management mentoring. A third homeopathic textbook is in the pipeline, along with a novel.

I consider health to be our most precious possession. Without health the potential to achieve our life purpose is limited. To restore others health, it behooves me to maintain my own. To that end I have created a work life balance including all the elements I require to sustain and nourish my spiritual, mental, emotional and physical wellbeing: ample solitude, sunshine, early morning strenuous hikes; listening to classical jazz, opera; reading detective novels, gardening, cooking, eating healthy spicy food, writing and most important of all, the thrill and satisfaction of effective homeopathic clinical practice.
